Someone else’s child is our child too–go the distance

This is an extremely sad and horrifying story.  It makes a person cry out “Why O why didn’t anyone report the abuses they saw when they saw them? A helpless child died needlessly–over a Popsicle?!  Abusers count on the fact that people want to mind their own business and that people don’t want to get involved.  A child is helpless, loving and trusting.  They are totally dependent on adults for love, protection and provision.  Children depend upon your voice to help them.  When things don’t look right–they probably are not.  Dare to save a life.  Vigilance counts.  Our responsibility to children does not end with only those in our immediate care…
