PR Open Mic

My journey through the pages of PR Open Mic lead me to some interesting sites. My first stop was links to jobs  where you can click on and scroll through various job or internship opportunities to find one that resonates with you.  Your resume can be posted, and if you need some help resume samples are available.

If you think videos are the way to go, there are 487 to choose from–everything from the latest, top-rated and most popular.  My personal favorite “Steve Jobs”.  There are forums you can join, friends you can add, and groups you can join. I clicked on Service Providers for PR Professionals , a group dedicated to the third party tools that PR professionals use on a day to day basis, Media Monitoring, Media Analysis, Press Release Distribution, Internet Monitoring, and Social Media Monitoring.  Another area of interest PR in Nonprofit Organizations.  This is a discussion group to discuss effective PR strategies for those working in nonprofit organizations. These organizations typically require some of the most unique PR practices for the lowest salaries.

Resources include PRSSA blogs, PR News, Political News, PR Faculty Magazine and Student Chats. On political news, I found information on the Tea Party  up-to-date and very informational. The only drawback I saw was that videos could not be easily shared or embedded.

Overall, the site offers many options to learn, join and share and is another option to network.
